Zinc Oxide, commonly referred to as zinc white is a kind of oxide of zinc. It is hardly soluble in water, bu soluble in acid and strong base. ZnO is a common chemical additive which is widely used to produceplastic, silicate products, synthetic rubber, lubricating oil, paint, ointment, binder, food, battery and flame retardant etc. ZnO has a large band gap and exciton binding energy, high transparency and good luminescent property under normal temperature. It is used in semiconductor field to produce such products as liquid crystal display (LCD), thin film transistor (TFT) and luminescent diode (LBD) etc. The micro grain of ZnO has been used as nanophase material in some areas.
